The 3 Days Rwanda Gorilla Tour is an unforgettable adventure that takes you to the Volcanoes National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. The tour offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see these gentle giants in their natural habitat, as well as explore the beauty of Rwanda’s scenic countryside.
On arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by our experienced tour guide who will transfer you to your accommodation in Ruhengeri, a town located near the Volcanoes National Park. Along the way, you will enjoy scenic views of the rolling hills and terraced landscapes of Rwanda, also known as the “Land of a Thousand Hills”. Upon arrival, you will check-in at your accommodation and spend the rest of the day at leisure, relaxing and preparing for the next day’s gorilla trekking adventure.
After breakfast, you will be driven to the park headquarters for a briefing on the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking. You will then be allocated to a gorilla family group and set off on your trek into the forest. The trek can take anywhere from 1 to 6 hours, depending on the location of the gorillas on that day. Once you find the gorillas, you will spend up to one hour observing and interacting with them, taking photos and learning about their behavior and habitat. After the trek, you will return to your accommodation for a well-deserved rest and dinner.
On the last day of your tour, you will wake up early for a golden monkey trekking experience. The golden monkeys are another primate species that are endemic to the Virunga Mountains and are found in the same forest as the mountain gorillas. After the trek, you will return to your accommodation for breakfast and then check-out. You will then be driven back to Kigali, where you can visit the Genocide Memorial Centre and learn about Rwanda’s tragic history before departing for your next destination.
